Large Rose Ring of Porcelain, hand colored with Pearlescent acrylic in a shade titled Platinum Pink. The band is a Silver plated, nicer quality, ornamented adjustable band ring with the bypass section at the rose for a comfortable and very functional design! Band width is 10 mm with a vine and leaf motif. The band is also nickle and lead free. The magnificent rose is 1 3/4 inches in diameter. I love all things floral! The roses are inspired by the vintage porcelain rose jewelry of the early 20th century produced in England. Using porcelain clay, I create each petal as I form the flower. Once the porcelain is dry, I sand each petal, clean the flower, and then apply 4-5 coats of pearlescent acrylic paint with an artistic plan of shading and coloration. The acrylic paint, once dry, is extremely water resistant. You may occasionally find a trace of one of my fingerprints here or there embedded in the clay as I prefer to work without gloves. Gloves separate me from the medium and I find it blunts the senses as I shape the petals.
