This gorgeous gourd vase is 9 3/4 inches tall and 8 inches in diameter. The mahogany colored base is set off with carved ripples and rim in black. The sunburst and curved moon sliver designs are pyroengraved and then enhanced with a variegated gold leaf. The gourd is then sprayed with multiple coats of protective coating.

The designed gourd making process is lengthy. The field gourd must be cleaned, cut, and processed inside and out before designing. The process then goes to layout of design, and often pyroengraving and/or carving is done. Then the gourd is colored with ink dyes or acrylic paints. Further embellishment is done with various techniques until the artisan is satisfied with the finished piece.

This vase is finished inside but is not food safe. Please clean with a duster or damp cloth.
