Product Description
Edward Winter, abstract designer, was a very important figure in the history and art of enameling in the United States. He studied at the Cleveland School of Art, graduating in 1931. Later he traveled to Vienna where he studied enameling and metalwork with Josef Hoffmann after which he became committed to enameling as his medium, executing designs in a modernist aesthetic. Winter won numerous prizes for his beautiful and well-respected enamels and wrote several books on the subject of enameling.

My mother had this stored in her linen closet (near the ocean) and when I pulled this out, my heart stopped because of the beauty of the nature depiction of the leaves, then the gold on the cobalt blue with turquoise "blooms" or "seeds" - the whole concept with geometric placement of the leaf spines.

Then, I noticed a very small chip on the edge with exposure. I'm not sure if it is the copper, but it is so tiny I didn't notice at first until I started photographing the piece.

So, in order to keep this piece with someone special that can display it properly, I did not touch this area, and would like to offer a 10 - day return for the piece and you simply pay for the shipping/insurance back to me if it will not work for you.

Piece measures 8" diameter and about 3/4" high.

I will pick up the shipping and insurance to get the piece to you.

If you have questions, please contact me. This is such a striking piece of art by Mr. Winter.
