Product Description
You will probably be able to smell the amber-like scent through the padded envelope when you get this in the mail. Strong, warm, and hinting of desert devilry, Balm of Gilead is one of the most exotic incense ingredients you can get today.
Said to be aligned with Jupiter, Balm of Gilead is sometimes used to attract spirits for necromancy and divination.
Mixed with sandalwood, vetiver, myrrh, honey, and oakmoss, this makes a very heady incense blend. Think velvet smoking jackets, leather bound books, persian rugs, and mysteries.
This is also used in rootwork (hoodoo) -- add a few buds to a mojo hand for attraction in general and for bringing estranged partners back together in particular.
The buds can be soaked in a carrier oil for several weeks, after which the fragrant result can be used for love spells or for consecration.
1/4 oz of Balm of Gilead.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
"As they sat down to eat their meal, they looked up and saw a caravan of Ishmaelites coming from Gilead. Their camels were loaded with spices, balm and myrrh, and they were on their way to take them down to Egypt."
--Genesis 37:25
That sounds romantic, doesn't it? Robed Arabic merchants riding their herd of camels across the desert sands, laden with storax, myrrh, labdanum, and balm of Gilead... These resins were used for embalming and would have been in great demand. And they would have smelled heavenly, even though an undertone of camel would have been present as well.
However, those who were sitting down to eat were Jacob's brothers. They had just thrown him down a dry well. (Jacob was the goody-goody with the schmancy coat, remember?) Fortunately for Jacob, the brothers decided to sell him to these spice merchants rather than rack up a bunch of bad karma by leaving him down the well to die.
