Make a wish and tie on the bracelet. When the string wears out and the bracelet falls off, your wish will have manifested. Until then, be aware of the opportunities it brings to make your wish come true.

Our wish bracelets are 9 Czech glass seed beads strung on a double strand of cotton embroidery floss, all in one color (except for the Evil Eye one, which is a pattern*). They are long enough (11"-ish) to be worn as anklets so they'll fit pretty much anyone. After you tie it on, just trim the excess floss.

* What's this about an "Evil Eye"? Will I be cursed if I get an Evil Eye bracelet? That sounds scary!! Eeep!

In many parts of the world, the "Evil Eye" is kind of a vague term meaning bad luck, illness, creepy feelings, etc. One can accidentally cast the Evil Eye, for example, by looking at someone too long. You can also just kind of run into random Evil Eye juju, and have an accident or become ill for no apparent reason. The Evil Eye can also steal your vital energy and possibly your Mojo, if you know what I mean. (In the USA, this could mean jury duty, IRS audits, your iPod eating all your iTunes, or no cell phone connectivity; oh, those pestilential first-world problems!)

To counteract these random curses, people wear their own Evil Eye, which will absorb the bad energy, deflect it, or shoot it down, depending on which source you read. The traditional one is a lapis blue spot with concentric circles of white, light blue, and black to form an "eye". There are many symbolic reasons for these colors but basically they are thought to be the strongest protective colors.



About the shipping on this item:

We want the bracelets to sell for a dollar each, but when we sell online there's the cost of credit card processing (about $.30), plus the cost of the stamp and envelope ($.50). We have other piddly costs like income tax, gasoline, etc, so the shipping on the first bracelet is a dollar to cover all of these costs. The good news is that you only pay for shipping & handling on the first bracelet coz the rest have no fee for shipping. If you buy something else, there is no extra shipping charge for the bracelet.

We're opening a new physical store in 2012! Every Wish Bracelet we sell goes directly to a fund devoted to start-up costs (sign, fixtures, etc). Opening a store is expensive -- we're anticipating about $15,000 and that's going to be skating on thin ice as it is.

Of course, anything we sell is great for the business, but the Wish Bracelet campaign is dedicated funds, not to be touched for inventory or supplies in the meantime.

Once we have successfully opened our store, the Wish Bracelet fund will start over for a new cause, such as a youth shelter or some local thing that we can help with. But our needs come first this time: we can't raise money for other people until our Wish for a new store comes true. Hey, at least we only have to shake trees for start up funds this one time. After we're open, we won't be doing this for ourselves again. So by using the bracelet to manifest your Wish, you are helping us manifest ours!
