This blend is very earthy but also packs a heady kick. Lavender, frankincense, and elecampane lighten and enhance the musky Irish peat, opening it up and sweetening it without overpowering the senses.

Composed as part of a challenge called "Native Scents" for an incense exchange, all the ingredients are native to Ireland except for frankincense. The Celts travelled with Alexander the Great and would have been familiar with frankincense.

"Japanese style joss" means there is no bamboo stick in the middle, just incense. It's a little more delicate than the bamboo stick type but ours goes through the mail OK.
