If you love the smell of clove cigarettes you will find this a familiar and beloved scent.

Cloves comprise half of this blend by volume (and probably by weight). Deeply warming and said to be good against colds, the spicy blend will put you in mind of gingerbread cookies and hot toddies. The sandalwood base lends a buttery sweet finish to this incense.

"Japanese style joss" means there is no bamboo stick in the middle, just incense. Ours is made from ground resins, woods, herbs, roots, and spices, with essential and high-quality candle grade fragrance oils.

Each batch of incense is blended and shaped by hand, and dried on a screen. They are about 5 inches long. The sticks are about 2mm in diameter. There are 10 in a reuseable plastic tube.

Wenceslaus I was Duke of Bohemia (not quite a king), and is the patron saint of the Czech state. Murdered in September 935 on his way to church, he was later canonized for his martyrdom and for building cathedrals. Wenceslaus' feast day is September 28th.

Somehow this guy is also linked to the Feast of Stephen (as in the song "Good King Wenceslas"), which is actually the same day as Boxing Day, December 26th.
