Beautiful red tiger eye gemstones are simply wire wrapped with copper in these artisan handmade earrings from Owl Hollow Studio's jewelry collection. The large oval shimmering red tiger eye gemstones are grade A, covered with bands of rich mahogany red shades with a high polish. The gemstones are held by two small copper wires that wrap twice across the front of the stones. The copper has been darkened to a light brown color, contrasting well with the mahogany red tiger eye. The earrings are 1/2 inch wide by 1 1/2 inches long. Length is measured from the top arch of the copper ear wire. Backs are included.
Tiger eye gemstones are most commonly seen in a brown color with golden brown banding. Tiger eye is less often found in several other colors, the red tiger eye you see here for one. It also comes in a honey gold, shades of blue from light denim to deep navy, black, and more rarely is seen in a dark green. Some tiger eye stones have combinations of two or more colors. It's a beautiful gemstone in any color.
