Product Description
An imported Indian silk sari decorated with a large floral and geometric design in soft greens, grays, and olive has been used to make this lovely upcycled silk scarf. These muted and elegant forest colors are perfect as an accent to wear day and night.

The word "sari" is derived from the Sanskrit meaning "strip of cloth." The history of these beautiful and graceful garments can be traced back to the Indus Valley civilization, which flourished from 2800-1800 BC in the western part of the Indian subcontinent. It is worn draped around the waist and over the shoulder, and there are many different ways of draping. A petticoat and blouse are usually worn underneath. Sari can be made of cotton, silk, or synthetic fabrics, in simple or elaborately embroidered designs.

Patchtique uses only pure silk sari, imported directly from India. After arrival in Seattle, the silk is carefully washed and dried. Then strips are cut to preserve the gradations of the colors and prints in each sari.

These scarves are light and soft enough to be worn inside, while at the same time the natural silk is quite warm against the skin. Once you have it on, you won't want to take it off!
