From 1899 Victorian England and naturalist and illustrator James Sowerby, here is a stunning hand-colored botanical engraving featuring -

Euphorbia lathyris. Caper Spurge.

The heavy, captioned paper measures 6.25" x 9.5" (16x24 cm) and shows a gentle edge-tanning to betray its years. The paper is clean and smooth, the hand-coloring is clear and bright, the corners are sharp, and there are no folds, tears, marks, or creases on the paper.
