Antique 1885 Victorian Era Engraved Aquatint European Map of Spain and Portugal

A beautiful German engraved aquatint map from Joseph Meyer's Germany featuring the European countries of Spain and Portugal.

This is a large paper, tabbed, and inserted into an 1885 Meyers Konversation encyclopedia - the center vertical fold is clean and smooth, the heavy paper is blank on its reverse, measures 9.5" x 12" (24x31 cm) and is clean, without creases, marks, tears, or other folds.

The heavy paper is blank on its reverse, the engraving is bold and clear, and the paper is smooth and clean. The printing and map colors are bright and clear - a wonderful historic map of the late Victorian Era. These are the map colors we remember and love - ocean teals and blues, rose pinks, sage greens, pastel lavenders and blues - altogether a lovely map.

A gorgeous paper to frame, wonderful to gift to the world traveler you adore, fantastic for your photography backgrounds or to use in your art.
