Five J. and G. Meakin England 10" English ironstone transferware porcelain dinner plates in their retired pattern, "Romantic England: Haddon Hall, Derbyshire" and in the very difficult-to-find color black/gray.

A gorgeous decorative plate to set your lovely table, featuring Haddon Hall, which dates to the 11th century, and the pattern illustrates the romantic 16th century love story of John Manners, heir to the Earl of Rutland, and his elopement with Dorothy Vernon.

With a decorated floral edging, the pastoral scene is lovely under glaze in creamy white to grays to black; the 10" plates are creamy smooth and clear, with no chips, cracks, crazing, or marks.

A lovely, clear J. G. Meakin England hallmark shows bright on the reverse, with the story and the plate's particulars.

I use USPS insured 1st Class Parcel Post for shipping, the cost of postal insurance as well as USPS Delivery Confirmation is included in the shipping charges for US destinations.

The plate *is* dishwasher proof (but I prefer to hand wash transferware) and measures 10" in diameter.
