Oh how I love this green Zombie Monster, with his purple brains poking out from his head, the bone sticking out of his right arm, because a fellow Zombie monster accidentally ate his right hand at a party, mistaking it for cucumber, and his right eye hanging from his optic nerve. Now I know that might sound a bit gruesome and ugly, but really, it's not. He is quite cute really, even though he wants your brains for his tea.

Zombie Monster's body is 30cm (12 inches) tall and 28 cm ( 11 inches) wide. Full body width including arm span is 48 cm (18 inches).

A friend of mine, Rory, is always talking about the Zombocalypse and all the plans he has made should this event actually happen, so I thought my world of monsters should have their very own Zombies, and this is the first one I made. I had enormous fun making him and watching the reactions of friends to the various body parts I was creating. Alfie my cat stole my original eyeball, as he liked it so much, so I had to make a second one. Pesky kitty!

Zombie Monsters skin was knitted from pure wool in an emerald green, before it was the washed and hand felted to about 80% of it's original size. His brain was knitted in purple pure wool and hand felted down separately, before being sewn into position in his body skin. He was then stuffed with polyester toy filling that conforms to the BS5852-2 fire retardancy standards.

His arm skins were knitted and felted down and then his arm bone and eye ball were made by needle felting. His arms were them assembled, stuffed and attached to his body.

Both his eyes have a black safety eye pupil, set on an orange iris. His right eye has a needle felted optic nerve that is attached to his face in his eye socket by needle felting. Although this is held in place strongly, repeated pulling of the eye could cause it to come away from the body. This monster is an art doll rather than a toy.
