After a long trek up in the high Himalayan I bumped into this very timid creature, who blended so well into the snowy background, that I almost didn't see her at all. After coaxing her to come over to see me with the offer of some ginger cake, I managed to slowly gain her trust by quietly talking to her and feeding her chocolate buttons. After 2 days she finally told me her name and her life story.

She told me she was known as Michê and that when she was very young, her mother went out to hunt for food, but never returned. After a few days of being cold and hungry, she went out from her den into the snow to search for her mother and food. She never found any sign of her mother and only found food around some camping climbers.

A Sherpa spotted her when she was scavenging from the camp kitchen rubbish bags, He took pity on such a small and weak baby, all alone in the freezing cold snow. He trapped her in a bag that contained warm porridge and carried her, in a pack on his back, to a local Tibetan Monastery. The kind Tibetan Buddhist monks took care of her for over 2 years. She was happy. She grew strong and healthy in their care, until one night, a terrible winter storm caused an avalanche that demolished the monastery. Thankfully Michê and all the monks escaped before the wall of snow hit, but it meant that they were all homeless. Since then the monks have moved away and Michê has been alone in the mountains.

I told her that if she came with me I would endeavour to find her a new, safe, loving forever home. Would you like to adopt Michê? She is a very small yeti, so won't take up much space. She is 24 cm (9.5 inches) tall and 19 cm (7.5 inches) wide.

I would not recommend Michê for a child under 3 years of age.

Michê's skin is 100% wool and her filling is polyester fibres that conform to the BS5852-2 fire retardancy standards. Her eyes are safety eyes.
