This beautiful hand knitted & felted mini top hat is made from 100 % self patterning wool. The pattern came out in stripes of beautiful shades of white and greys. It has a small brim which is accentuated by a black ribbon band. The shape is of a wider top that tapers slightly in towards the base of the hat and out again to the brim, which gives it a jaunty look. It is 13cm (5 inches) high and measures 41.5cm (16.5 inches) around the hat band. This is one of the larger Mini top hats that I make. It would work very well with a big top knot of dreads or falls.

These hats are perfect for pinning to your hair, to go with a special outfit, or to wear attached to falls or dreads that have been tied up. They are great for fancy dress, clubbing or to top of a burlesque / belly dancing outfit. There are so many ways to wear them and they look really cute!

This hat comes with a pinning strip around the inside of its brim (hair pins are not provided with the hat), but it can be attached to a hair comb or Alice band if you prefer. Leave a message in the customer notes if you would like me to do this.

The process of making these hats is fairly long and uses a large amount of yarn. Firstly the hat gets hand knitted to about twice the size the finished product will be and then it is hand felted down to its finished size. This can take two or three washings and drying to achieve the finished size. I do not machine wash them to do this as I have found that it ruins the colours.
