This mini felted top hat was knitted from self patterning 100% wool yarn. The yarn knitted to give beautiful stripes of various yellows, gold and cream. The hat is wider at the top and tapers down towards the hat base and was felted down to a Mad Hatter style. At the base it flares out to a mini brim. It measures 14.5 cm (5.5 inches) tall and is 28.5 cm (11.25 inches) around the hat band. This hat has a yellow ribbon hair band with a holographic gold and silver plume decorating it. The plume catches the light and sparkles.

These hats are perfect for pinning to your hair, to go with a special outfit, or to wear attached to falls or dreads that have been tied up. They are great for fancy dress, steampunk, clubbing or to top of a burlesque / belly dancing outfit. There are so many ways to wear them and they look really cute!

This hat comes with a pinning strip around the inside of its brim (hair pins are not provided with the hat), but it can be attached to a hair comb or Alice band if you prefer. Leave a message in the customer notes if you would like me to do this.

The process of making these hats is fairly long and uses a large amount of yarn. Firstly the hat gets hand knitted to about twice the size the finished product will be and then it is hand felted down to its finished size. This can take two or three washings and drying to achieve the finished size. I do not machine wash them to do this as I have found that it ruins the colours.
