Black and White Earrings, Swarovski Crystals and Pearls, Leverbacks

Product Description

These stylish black and white earrings combine crystals and pearls from Swarovski in a simple dangle that hangs from silver-plated leverback hooks. Each earring has three shiny round white pearls with black saucer-shaped crystal beads in between them - a classic contrast! Little silver-plated daisy spacers are added at the top and bottom of this combination, with a wire wrap above the top bead. This pair would look great with a little black dress or simply a more casual black or white top.

The leverbacks have a minimal design on the front and will keep these pretty earrings from slipping off your ears. If you would prefer simpler sterling-silver French hooks with clear earnuts, I will be happy to replace the leverbacks with those. Just ask.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product

The inspiration for these earrings came from a portrait of an elderly woman in Egypt during the Roman Empire. In her portrait she is wearing earrings that seem to be made of two large round pearls with a black bead in between ... simple but elegant. After experimenting with beads for a while, I decided that using an extra pearl with two black crystals seemed a nice "descendant" of the ancient ones. The little design on the front of the leverbacks added a tad more, and so I used those rather than simpler French hooks. As I worked, I also thought about how the earrings in the portrait must have been special to that woman, and wondered about her life in that time and place. I wish I knew something about her other than that she had nice taste in jewelry. :)
