This vinyl 45 record hails from 1971 and contains George Harrison's hit single "What Is Life" on its A side and his fun tune "Apple Scruffs" on its B side. It has had one owner (me) and been squirreled away in a little carry-all record box for about 40 years.

If you're a George Harrison fan, this is a nice "souvenier" from the days when Harrison had finally gained recognition on his own and had become a popular recording artist. If you're a Beatles fan, this is an opportunity to get something from the exciting days when the post-split Beatles were still releasing singles of their own music.

I see this item as perfect for a creative retro project or simply for framing and displaying on a wall.

I loved my 45s nearly to death, but took good care of them, especially as I got older. This was one of the very last 45s I bought, as I'd moved on to LPs, so it doesn't have the wear of older 45s of mine. Still, if you are intending to play the record, PLEASE NOTE that I don't have access to a turntable to check the sound on it, and I cannot vouch for a pop-less or static-less play. Like many kids, I stacked my 45s on an adapter spindle when I played them, and tone arms for record players back then could be quite weighty. That said, the A side has no scratches of note. The B side has a little bit of scruffing (which ironically fits the song title). The record doesn't look dirty to my eye, but it would need a careful and thorough cleaning before any trial spin on a turntable.

The front label does not show much wear, although wear is visible on the B side (see my photo).

Included is a vintage Apple sleeve, with black coloring and Apple's green signature in the top middle. It shows some wear on the back and some wrinkling in one corner; overall, it seems in fairly good shape for a item this old. This is likely the sleeve that originally came with the record, although I cannot be 100 percent certain about that.
