Product Description
This beautiful platter made by Pfaltzgraff is from the America pattern and sports the M.A.F.A. stamp on the back along with the old castle mark. America was made by Pfaltzgraff between the years 1983 and 1989 when it was discontinued. M.A.F.A. stands for Museum of American Folk Art. And, folk art it is. Each piece of America has a different folk art image, which also reminds me of the old quilt block patterns. The house on this platter could easily be a house quilt block with appliques of a bird and flowers. Other pieces I have seen have on them the basket and tree of life patterns. A very interesting dish pattern for sure and very Americana.

This platter measures 14 inches long by 10 inches wide. The well is a little over 1 inch deep, making it very useful for all kinds of dishes. There are no chips, cracks or crazing and no scratches that I can find. It's in excellent condition.

The warm browns combined with the blue sponge effect make this old pattern perfect for country homes and for quilters alike. Or, anyone loving folk art.
