You ever noticed how a ruff makes a person look really artsy and sophisticated? The problem is that they're really only wearable if one wears their hair up so the ruff doesn't get crushed in the back. The result is that the long hair doesn't fall right, and the ruff looks out of place...

Well, not anymore. This ruff is designed to be worn with long hair--it doesn't go completely around the neck! Now you can avoid looking like a head on a plate and keep your fabulously styled locks in place, because this ruff only goes around your neck 2/3 of the way!

Attached to a 1" wide grosgrain ribbon, and then further sewn onto a longer nylon organdy ribbon to tie in back, this piece is unique and interesting and quite the statement! The ruff itself is 2 1/4" wide, 1" deep and compressed into 8". It is made of black cotton velveteen that is distinctive and elegant.

Hidden in the fold of the ruff are hand painted leaf motifs of gold and olive green metallic fabric paint that has been heat set. Only on one side, the ruff can also be worn upside down presenting a sold black look without the fabric leaves. Two looks, one accessory!

The ribbons are finished off with aiglets, similar to the ends of shoe laces or corset ties.
