This handmade hair barrette or hair pin is made from iridized glass that has been fused in a kiln. The iridescent glass has a metallic like appearance that has a pretty reflection in the light or sun and that gradually changes from golds to purples depending on your viewing angle and also has touches of dark green and blue. Underneath the metallic layer, the glass is a transparent aquamarine blue. In the light, the iridized layer will catch the light and in the shadows the aquamarine color will stand out. In the pictures, you will see the back of the barrette finding showing through the glass but when the barrette is against your hair, this will not be noticable. A geometric pattern has also been imprinted on the glass which gives it some texture as well as more sparkle.

The glass portion of this hair accessory measures approximately 5/8 x 2 5/8 inches. The barrette back is a silver color and is a french style that auto locks when it is pressed together.
