Want a sweet pair of earrings, but sweet earrings that pack a lot of pretty punch? These STAR BRIGHT handmade earrings are the ones for you! Czech Picasso glass with a star design, Swarovski crystals and sterling silver star headpins were used to create the one of a kind (OOAK) STAR BRIGHT earrings. These beauties were designed by Catherine of Shadow Dog Designs.

Czech glass: app. 12 mm x 12 mm x 3 mm
Swarovski crystals: 6 mm "light Colorado topaz" Swarovski crystal faceted bicones
Metal: sterling silver
Headpins: sterling silver with a star

I love the Czech glass used for these earrings. Czech glass has been made for hundreds of years in what is now the Czech Republic. It is world renowned for it's beautiful colors, designs and finishes. Czech glass beads are made in small batches and may have slight variations in color from one batch to the next. Some Czech glass beads are given an additional Picasso finish to give a wonderful rustic look to the beads.

The square Czech glass beads used in STAR BRIGHT are a gorgeous turquoise color that has been polished to a high shine. A textured, many-armed star design was imprinted into the glass on both sides. To give rustic brilliance to the beads, a brownish Picasso finish was applied and settled into the textured areas and are on the edges of the beads. The finish definitely sets off the star design! And because the beads are made in small batches, you can see from the photographs that each side is not exactly the same. To frame the Czech beads, sterling silver daisy spacers were used at the top and bottom.

To highlight the brownish Picasso finish of the star beads, 6mm Swarovski faceted bicones were used in a "light Colorado topaz" color. These crystals are a favorite Swarovski color of mine and I think they are a perfect combo with the Czech glass. And they give a STAR BRIGHT sparkle!

To add to the star theme, the main body of the earrings were placed on sterling silver headpins with a star at the end. Because of the flat nature of the sterling stars, they catch the light and and add additional glitter to the earrings. The main body of the earrings were finished by wire-wrapping them to sterling silver French hooks.

The STAR BRIGHT earrings will be carefully packed in an organza jewelry bag, perfect for gift giving to a loved one . . . or to yourself!

You will absolutely love these lovely little earrings! The STAR BRIGHT earrings are perfect with most casual clothes of almost any color. And because of the sparkle of the Swarovski crystals, they are also perfect for dress up. They are like having sparkly stars on your ears!

The inspiration for these earrings have to do with the star design. I have always been fascinated with space and often star gaze. I had also just bought the star headpins so knew immediately that they had to be combined with the Czech glass. Then to add a STAR BRIGHT sparkle, the Swarovski crystals were added.
