It is very light weight, easy to carry, very portable and easy to pack in a suitcase.This is a great, inexpensive spinning wheel to start with. Yes, it is made of PVC plastic pipe but it works very well. Wheel diameter: 17 3/4". Orifice: 3/8". Ball bearings. Assembles in minutes. This is a great wheel to learn on. I has a nice large wheel which makes keeping the wheel turning nice and easy. Has a nice high orifice.

It has Irish tension...AKA Bobbin driven. This means that the pull is all on the bobbin. It works great for worsted to bulky size yarn. I can even spin fingering weight on it. It is not a good wheel for lace weights unfortunately being Irish tension.

If you are wanting a basic wheel but lack the cash, this might be the wheel for you. What it lacks in looks, it makes up for in pure functionality.
