This is a mixed media piece with lots of different elements. The main element, which is the beadwoven centerpiece was carefully hand stitched with a needle, thread, and tiny seed beads in shades of blue and copper. The focal lampwork bead was made in my home studio. I added a couple of coppery gold pearls for a little added richness. The fringe is also all hand stitched and the back has been lined with felt for comfort.

The large copper links are handmade and soldered closed, then wire wrapped with the same seed beads used in the main piece. I finished the necklace with coppery brown chainmaille in a byzantine pattern and a handmade copper hook clasp.

The beaded piece is 5 1/4 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches from top to bottom.

The chain itself is 15 1/4 inches.

Total length taking into account the beaded piece is a 20 1/2 inches long

I really enjoyed making this piece and incorporating several different techniques and materials into it. It kind of took on a life of its own and turned into something far more spectacular than was originally planned!
