Teal, blue, and green colors flash on these handmade square dichroic glass drop earrings. They have a metallic strip of dichroic color down the center, and faceted glass beads, all hanging from sterling silver French wires. These earrings are 6/16" wide and 1 1/2" long including the sterling silver French earwires.

To make the glass gems I cut the dichroic glass and layer the pieces with a clear glass. Then I place it in my kiln and fuse it at 1450 degrees. Sometimes I refine the shapes with diamond grinding tools. After which I fire it in the kiln again at 1350 degrees to polish the surface and temper the glass.

When the glass piece is finished, I add the beads and handcrafted sterling silver ear wire to create the earrings.

Fused glass changes color in the heat of the kiln so it can be hard to reproduce the color even on my smallest earrings.
