This brooch is made from fuchsia sueded silk and beads. I never know what to write about these things, so pardon me if I just talk to you. Barbara Walters was wearing a brooch one day and I really liked it. Of course, it's hard to see details on a small TV like mine but I think I got some of the idea of it. Like everything it changes as I go. I cut out a yo-yo from this sueded silk that I just love. It is so soft. After I made the yo-yo, I began to sew on the beads. The white beads are from a necklace of Mom's that broke and was put aside to be repaired, but never got finished. The crystal beads are left from a wedding dress I made. I used a piece of plastic canvas covered with the silk for stability. The pin is attached via a couple of buttonholes in the silk. I'm rather proud of myself. Approximate measurements are 3 1/4 inch across and I used a 1 1/2 inch pin.
