INSPIRATION - The Development of Wicca During the 19th Century

Although the Victorian Era and the Industrial Revolution saw the rise of materialism, logic and reason over faith, superstition and dogma, still -- great spiritual development was taking place. Spiritualism - including such interests as communicating with spirits, including the departed - began to become more prominent. It was during this period that the Wiccan movement was established, although its foundations are actually very very ancient..The Wiccan movement and revival of Witchcraft of the mid-and late 1900s began during the Victorian Era.

The truth is, technology, logic and reason, and established, set ways of thinking can never dislodge the power of the Goddess, the Sacred Feminine energy of Nature...

This piece reminds me of the Steampunk era because of the handworked fine, Victorian design on metal, which appears like a complex stamping, and the elegant, golden vintage appearance of the brass, the crescent moon Goddess, and the Victorian setting.

MATERIALS:

THE FOCAL PENDANT:

The focal pendant is a Victorian setting featuring a fine, handworked crescent moon design on brass. It is embellished with the crescent moon Goddess which echoes the background crescent moon design and a Spell Bound Gem(tm) in amethyst tone with an antiqued appearance.

SPELL BOUND GEMS(tm) AMULET: The central bead cage features a lovely deep amethyst piece which has been enchanted for love, prosperity and protection.

THE BAIL: This necklace features a brass tone filigree bail with a hand antiqued clear faux crystal at the center of a crescent moon lady charm. Clear crystals set off the antique clear appearance of the central gem.

THE CHAIN: The vintage brass chain features a steampunk brass skeleton key - For me, the key is the symbol of the ability to unlock doors with the use of mystical knowledge.
