Original mixed media portrait painting on stretched 20" x 24" canvas done with acrylic paint and collage papers.

I have titled it "Dreaming" because of the collaged words but also because of the look in her eyes as if she was off dreaming about the future or about another time and place.

Price includes the canvas only, no framing included. However, the side edges of the canvas have been painted so that it can be quite easily hung on your wall as is and will look "finished".

Note that 2 of the photos show the work in the development stages for your information and understanding.

Painting will be well protected for shipping, wrapped in cardboard and other materials for cushioning.

This began with my thought of painting a profile pose, which I have been practicing, and then evolved from there. My beginning efforts were to sketch the main figure, do an "underpainting" of her face and arm, and then I started adding collaged papers to the upper part of the canvas.

My internal picture was to use some hand painted papers I had created to collage "paint" her hair blowing in the wind. It took quite a long while to cut out the pieces of purple papers to suggest the strands of hair.

Then the rest of the piece just flowed from there. The remaining pieces of collaged paper in her dress and the bottom were hand-torn (no cut edges) and pieced together.
