This listing is for *one* birth announcement block, customized with a child's information. Each block is made by hand, then sanded and finished with a few coats of polyurethane.

This is intended as a keepsake for your child, grandchild, or loved one, or as a gift for a friend. These also work for wedding announcements, etc.


Eyelets:

By default your block will come with an eyelet added in the top left corner, so that it will hang as the ones in the last picture do.

Optionally, we can put the eyelet in the center of the top, so that it hangs straight. We can also leave your block plain, with no eyelet, this way the block has no small parts and is child safe, but will not work as an ornament. If you would like one of these options just leave a note in the comments box when you check out.


Additional Blocks:

If you would like to order more than one block of the same design (e.g. to use as actual birth announcements), check my other listings for a set of 20, or contact me for a custom number. Additional blocks are $3/pc.

Block size is 1.5" cube, which is a standard alphabet block size. If you are looking for a larger block we may be able to make one for you, but pricing will vary, please contact us for more details.


How to Order:

I will verify all of your order details before I start making the block, but the more information you provide up front the faster I can get to work. You're welcome to put your information in the notes box when you check out, otherwise you can send me a message after your purchase.

With that in mind, here is the information I'll need:

1. The letter and color you would like on the top of the block (usually your child's first initial, uppercase).
2. The letter and color you would like on the bottom (usually your child's first initial, lowercase).
3. The image you would like on the first side (see below for more information), and boy/girl text.
4. Your child's full name.
5. Your child's birth date, time, and place.
6. Your child's weight and length.
7. Any special information (add an eyelet, leave the block uncoated, use all lower-case text, etc.)

This information can be changed and tweaked, but it's best to start out with the basics and go from there.


First Side Image:

The first side of the announcement block has an image on it. I have a collection of simple images you can use (see the last photo on this listing). I generally put the text "It's a boy!" or "It's a girl!" along with the image.

You can, however, make this side more customized. If you would like to provide an image for me to use, just make sure you have permission to use it (if you didn't make the image, you need permission). Images need to be fairly high contrast and clean to transfer properly onto the wood, let me know what you want to use and I'll let you know if it will work. Close-up portrait shots tend to work best.

You can also request custom text on this side with the image, or instead of the image.


Safety:

All paints are non-toxic, and we're now finishing these with shellac, which is completely child-safe. If you are getting an eyelet in your block, it will NOT be child-safe. Please order without an eyelet, or remove the eyelet before allowing a child to handle the block.


Order Processing:

I will contact you after your purchase to verify details before making your product. Due to demand, we're backed up a bit right now, custom items may take 2-3 weeks to process before shipment.


Terms:

If you are paying with a check, paypal e-check, or money order, your order will be held if necessary until after the payment clears.

We started out offering custom promotional blocks, when customers started asking for announcement blocks for parties and births we decided to offer these as a standard product.
