The Scent: A sweet blend of Tropical Passionfruit, Blooming Jasmine, Sugared Citrus, and Exotic Florals.

The recipe: This is my Shea Butter Rice Bran recipe. I have increased the amount of Shea Butter, added Rice Bran oil and increased the super fat percentage (amount of oil left over after the soap has been made) for a more conditioning and emollient bar of soap. My soap has a creamy, bubbly lather and I recommend using a bath pouf to achieve the maximum amount of bubbles possible.

Rice bran oil is widely used in Japan as a natural beauty treatment. The high levels of oleic acid makes it particularly well absorbed by human skin, and it contains over 100 known vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, including high levels of vitamin E.

Shea Butter, also called African Karite Butter, is much like Avocado oil in that there is a large percentage that does not react with the lye to make soap and is left over in the final product to make a wonderfully nourishing and moisturizing bar of soap. Shea Butter is also a humectant (draws moisture to the skin) and contains Vitamins A, E, and F which help to soothe and hydrate the skin.

This soap has also been super fatted which means that there is an extra amount of oil left over after the chemical process has occurred to transform the oils and lye to soap. What that means for you is an emollient bar of soap providing extra moisture for your skin.

Each bar weighs between 4 - 4.5 oz. The sizes and shapes vary due to hand cutting. Each bar is individually shrink wrapped and labeled.

To make your handmade bar of soap last longer, keep it out of the spray of water as you are showering and let it dry out between use. You will want to use a soap dish that drains.

Shipping: I will fit all that I can into the most economical package and use the least expensive shipping method possible to save you money. I will also automatically credit any shipping over charges above $1.00 back to you through PayPal. If flat rate is the least expensive method I will ship flat rate.

What makes handmade soap different?

Handmade soap contains natural glycerin, a humectant and a natural byproduct of cold process soap making. A humectant pulls moisture out of the air, draws it to your skin and helps by locking it in. Most commercial soaps have the glycerin removed because it can be used in other more profitable products. Handcrafted soap is more moisturizing, its gentler on the skin, doesnt contain harsh chemicals or added ingredients to make it do the very things handmade soap does naturally. If made properly, it has a rich, creamy, bubbly lather, it gently cleanses without stripping the skin of its own natural oils, contains glycerin to draw moisture to it and gently nourishes and conditions your skin. If used regularly, you can see a noticeable difference. No more dry, tight, itchy skin.
