This is a fossilized snail - or Ammonite - and what a fabulous speciman it is! It is opalized and flashes with a brilliant red rainbow fire. Robert has done an outstanding job with his wire wrap to showcase this beauty. He's used 14kt gold filled wire. The chain that comes with this is made by Linda - it's brass byzantine and is about 20 inches long. The Ammonite is about 3 inches long from top of the wire wrap to the bottom. The earrings are an Ammonite cut in half and also wrapped in 14 kt gold filled wire. They dangle about 2 inches from top of ear wire to bottom of wire wrap. What a cool set!

At our local rock show, we came across this lovely Ammonite. It took Robert almost 2 years to complete this set. The earrings gave him fits - they kept slipping out of their wraps. But he perservered and voila - what a fabulous set!
