This fused dichroic glass jewelry pendant is almost two inches (5 cm) long by approximately one inch wide (2.5 cm). The colors range from a deep cobalt blue to a brilliant iridescent teal. This piece is four layers thick and is topped by a small piece of eye catching iridescent teal/blue textured glass. There is great depth to this piece with intense color and interesting textures that really play with light. The textured bail is meant for a thick braided cord, ribbon or heavy chain.

This beautiful cabochon takes one deep beneath the sea. It speaks of tides and Caribbean hues. The multi- layered dichroic glass pendant is a bold statement and would look beautiful with a sweater and a thick cord, ribbon or chain to support it. It would also look great against a white summer shirt or on a shirtless man! This piece would be at home on either a man or a woman. #P1112

I had some very beautiful blue glass as well as an interesting clear with ribbed textures on my work table. I layered the colors and clear and added an interesting tiny "jewel" for the finishing touch!

What is dichroic glass?
Dichroic glass was first developed by NASA as part of their satellite mirror systems. The exceptionally thin coatings are applied to glass in very controlled environments. Di-chroic means two colors and this glass reflects/transmits different colors depending on the angle of light. When it is worn with different colors, it appears to pick up and reflect some of those colors so it really enhances the total look. I call this the "mood" of the glass and it is very difficult to truly capture this quality in a photograph.

I wear my handmade jewelry almost every day. People have often stopped me to look at the dichroic glass and ask or comment about it.
