This glowing set of dichroic pendant and earrings changes mood depending on the background color. The set is pictured on both black, gray and white backgrounds. The bands of blue create an interesting focal point that runs through all three pieces. Colors range from a silvery clear to a glowing golden yellow. There are tiny dots of blue, yellow and red scattered through the glass. The pendant measures .5 inches wide by 1.5 inches long (1.3 cm X 3.8 cm). The 1 inch (2.5 cm) long earrings dangle beautifully from golden accented silver hooks. Bails are silver plated.

What is dichroic glass? Dichroic glass was first developed by NASA as part of their satellite mirror systems. Di-chroic means two colors and this glass reflects/transmits different colors depending on the angle of light. When it is worn with different colors, it appears to pick up and reflect some of those colors so it really enhances the total look. I call this the "mood" of the glass. Because of it's ability to color-shift, photographing the jewelry is difficult. Dichroic glass is very coveted by glass jewelry artisans.

All Umeboshi jewelry is handmade by the artist at Dark Hollow Studio in the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia. Each piece is carefully fired and annealed in a digital kiln for perfect results!
