Approximately 1 inch x 2.5 inches long ( 2.5 cm x 6.4 cm ), this unusual fused glass pendant pivots beautifully from a argentium sterling silver pinch bail. Argentium sterling silver is a new silver alloy that resists tarnish. There are at least five different glass layers on this piece! The base consists of two textured iridescent clear triangles topped with luscious orange strips. On top is a dot of red capped with a bit of blue-green, black and pink dichroic accent glass.

It is difficult to describe the icicle quality of this piece. This pendant is unusual and will draw some attention. It should look nice over a sweater or worn daringly low on the decolletage! Use a sterling silver chain, long black leather cord or jazz it up with an orange ribbon! You will love owning this special piece of jewelry. P1135

This pendant allowed me to use some unusual clear textured glass and create something unique! The dichroic accent set off the orange and clear in a very subtle and exciting way. I had to cross my fingers on the tack fuse firing and was rewarded with a lovely result! This piece earned a special high quality bail.

What is dichroic glass? Dichroic glass was first developed by NASA as part of their satellite mirror systems. The thin dichroic coating must be applied to the sheet glass in very controlled environments. Di-chroic means two colors and this glass reflects/transmits different colors depending on the angle of light. When it is worn with different colors, it appears to pick up and reflect some of those colors so it really enhances the total look. I call this the "mood" of the glass. Dichroic glass is very coveted by glass jewelry artisans. Just a little bit will do.
