This unique dichroic glass pendant and earring set is sure to add a touch of art to your daily fashion choices. Measuring 3/4 inch wide X 13/4 inch long (4.5cm x 2cm), the pendant is supported by a gold plated leaf bail. The 5/8 inch wide x 1/2 inch long post earrings are held by wide acrylic post backs to provide comfort and support. There are four layers of fully fused glass, brilliant color floating on color, with a black background. The pieces are embellished with vibrant teal/green and copper dichroic colors, capped with clear and then accented on top with crinkly gold/green textured bars. I had some very nice dichroic glass pieces that would form an unusual combination of colors and texture. I decided to make a set of pendant and post earrings, something elegant. I could not wait to see how if fired up and was not disappointed!

This wearable art set will look fabulous with a low cut black dress or blouse. It will also tango with teal or yellow, even a light brown. Dichroic glass is versatile with so many color combinations! A gold chain or black cord would show this off well.

What is dichroic glass? Dichroic glass was first developed by NASA for it's satellite mirrors and it is applied in extremely thin layers under very controlled conditions. Di-chroic means two colors and this glass reflects/transmits different colors depending on the angle of light. When it is worn with different colors, it appears to pick up and reflect some of those colors so it really enhances the total look. I call this the "mood" of the glass and it is impossible to truly capture this quality in a photograph.
