A sweet, hard-to-find Coty vanity set. Nothing quite like it on the 'net; a perfect gift for the collector of vintage compacts. Great green & red colors for Christmas--a perfect gift for the collector of vintage compacts. Includes an early 50s' Coty "Rachel 1" AirSpun pressed powder enameled compact, 0.6 oz. vial of Emeraude perfume (still good), and tube of lipstick (contents not good!). There's good powder in the compact; I assume that's a refill, but the puff looks original. All in a fabric-covered stiffened case, not a soft-sided pouch, with snap closure. The Asian-inspired scene on the case complements the print on the compact.

Tip: You can remove the old lipstick and refill the tube with a same-diameter lipstick....

Termed a "Pressed Powder Purse Kit," similar sets to this are shown in Laura Mueller's "Encyclopedia of Compacts, Carryalls and Face Powder Boxes" (1996 edition). However, this exact set is not shown.

Case is 4 1/2" L x 3" H x 1" D. Compact is approx. 2 5/8" dia.

Metal pieces and enameling are in excellent to near mint condition. Compact mirror is clear--no clouding, scratches, etc. Perfume bottle is near mint to mint, and perfume has maintained its original fragrance, without degradation. Case is very good, with some expected wear, but fabric is all intact; interior has some surface soiling, but not as dark as it shows in the photos.
