Sterling Silver Wire Wrapped Dichroic Glass Earrings, "Stormy Weather". I've used Argentium sterling silver wire to wrap this pair of my handmade dichroic fused glass cabochons into netted bezels with sterling silver beads caps accenting the earwires. Beneath the cabs swings a pair of stunning London Blue Topaz briolettes topped with clusters of gemstone beads in Tanzanite, Apatite and Garnet. I've oxidized the silver to a dark grey to enhance the "stormy" effect. They are approximately 45mm x 15mm, 1-3/4 inches x 5/8 inches.

These earrings remind me of an approaching storm. Dark swirling clouds, brilliant flashes of colored lightning against the dark ble skies.

About the dichroic cabochon: All of my cabs are fired & annealed in a digitally controlled kiln using compatible glass

First-I start by fusing a "slab" of glass.

Second-I cut the desired shapes out on a ring saw and clean the edges up on a grinder. Then I use a channeling bit to put a groove or channel on the edge of the cab.

Three-It then goes back into the kiln for a final firing where it is smoothed and fire polished.
