Product Description

A hand-polished piece of natural New Zealand paua shell, hand-wrapped with sterling silver wire. The colours are very bright and almost seem to change and shift, depending on the viewing angle.

Paua is the Māori name given to three species of large edible sea snails, marine gastropod molluscs which belong to the family Haliotidae, known in the USA and Australia as abalone, and in the UK as ormer shells. It is also known as "sea opal."
