A lap quilt measuring 48" x 52", this scrap-happy blanket is purple, pink, yellow and turquoise, with zingers of bright green -- what a fun combination! It was machine-quilted with purple thread and stitched in a swirl pattern. The back is yellow with white chopstick-lines. Should you decide to hang it instead of snoozing underneath, a rod pocket will help to keep it on the wall.

I was inspired to sew something, but had limited time. This pattern was fun to make because after starting in the middle, I added strips of various fabrics, working my way out from the center. The part that made me gleeful was hand-stitching the raw edge strips of stripey purple in the center -- I don't know why that was so much fun! The same purple stripe binds the edge of the whole quilt.

100% cotton

So many fabrics make this a scrappy quilt. The youthful kitties in dress-up clothes just might entertain a young girl.
