Ellie's elegant gown is handstitched. The black woven bodice and pure white skirt are Japanese kimono cloth. Ellie's mohair tresses, beaded and in cool blue, purple, grey and magenta, tower high over her hand-painted face. More beads embellish Ellie's gown and her ballet-like slippers. Although she appears to be wearing a long elegant black glove, in reality her skin is marked like a Holstein (cow). Ellie is approximately 14" tall and stands on a base collaged with pages from the French novel Dominique. Ellie's body is from a pattern created by Barbara Roberts.
