A beautiful antique cloak or cape collar with light olive green, brown and pumpkin colored braid, and bronze metallic embroidery and fringe on a tightly curled black ground with bronze metallic threads throughout.

It is approximately 16" at its widest point, and 12" at the neckline. This size is best suited for a young girl's or small woman's garment, and is not made to join at the throat, but lie at the back and sides of the neck opening.

It was built onto a black buckram base, and is in excellent condition, strong with bright colors. You will see some loose threads in the photos; this is from the backing, and not the collar itself. A few of the fringe strands are bent, but this can be remedied by ironing under a pressing cloth.

This is a geniune antique textile, not a reproduction; this type of collar was used on late 19th/early 20th century cloaks and capes, and would work very well in vintage costume restoration, or as a unique accent to a modern recreation or original design.
