Product Description
Print by the Orborne Co. of New York, from a painting by Henry P. Smith. 10-3/8 x 13-3/4, image size 8 x 12. Copyright 1906 Henry P. Smith.

From a painting of the Easthampton NY boyhood home of John Howard Payne (1791-1852), actor and author of the classic song Home Sweet Home. The color in the photos is how the picture appears, golden green & tan, with a soft blue sky. A very idyllic scene, with the cottage partially hidden by trees, 3 wandering ducks in front of the home, a man at the gate, and the bay peeks out from behind the foliage on the right.

The paper has some very light vertical crease lines which look as if it was rolled at one time (it has been flat for many years, and the lines are not very noticable); there are two chips on the right edge and a small tear on the left-hand edge, but these would not be obvious when framed, and there is no damage in the image area.

Also listed is another print by the Osborne Co., also from a Henry P. Smith painting, of George Washingtons home at Mt. Vernon (1907), which would make a nice companion piece for this print.
