David's Story

David Christopher Turner was diagnosed with Stage IV lymphoma in 2008. He originally created the David Turner Lymphoma Foundation to raise money for a stem cell transplant. Unfortunately his body had not responded to chemo therapy well enough for him to receive the transplant.

If he couldn't receive one, David partnered with the American Cancer Society (http://www.cancer.org) to form a program in his honor to raise enough money for people to receive stem cell transplants on behalf of the American Cancer Society and the David Turner Lymphoma Foundation. He worked non-stop to set up the foundation and implement his fund raising ideas until the very last day. At just 26 years of age, David passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2009. His mom, Suzanne Turner, will continue David's vision. Cancer-themed items, including my jewelry, will be available at http://bigdavesbiggift.org/ soon. I am honored to work with Suzanne and David's family and make sure his legacy and vision live on. He is an inspiration to all of us, and we will always remember his amazing strength and spirit!

The necklace features a sterling silver chain adorned with a hand-stamped sterling silver disc, an awareness ribbon charm and a light sapphire Swarovski crystal.

Size:
The ribbon is 15x10mm.
The stamped disk is 1" (25.4 mm) in diameter.
The chain is 18" long. A 16" chain is also available.

Chain choice:
The chain is available in three styles: cable (pictured), box and ball. If you would like a different chain style than the one pictured, please indicate your preference in the Notes to Seller at checkout.

Stamped word choice:
If you'd like a different word (or name, date or initials) stamped instead of "My dad, my hero", please indicate the word in the Notes to Seller at checkout.

Swarovski crystal (or pearl) color choice:
