Today's fashion jewelry is all about statement pieces, and the Laurel Limelight Necklace, featuring natural leaf pendants, is a real showstopper. You can't help but feel stunning and in control when you wear this gorgeous choker style beaded necklace.

The three leaf pendants were crafted from actual evergreen laurel leaves, handpicked in Southern Oregon, and preserved in pure silver. Each leaf pendant is a unique piece of art, with all of the natural beauty and irregularity as the real leaf from which it was created.

DETAILS: Necklace without the pendants is approximately 17.65¬¬ inches. The beads are all natural gemstones, consisting of 8mm hematite rounds, 14 x 10 x 4mm green leaf puffed ovals and 14 x 10 x 5mm jade puffed rectangles. Two corrugated sterling silver beads (5mm) accent each leaf pendant. Please note that all measurements are approximate.

The three leaf pendants are genuine leaves that were electroplated in pure silver (process described below). The leaves were hand selected to look good together, but are not identical. The two side leaves are similar looking evergreen laurel leaves (each around 2 inches x .65 inches). The center leaf has a similar shape, but is larger (around 2.5 inches x 1 inch), has a filigree pattern and ridged edges. (It may be a different type of leaf.)

All metal components are sterling silver. Clasp is a heavy weight fancy toggle style with an antiqued finish - 12mm ring and 21mm toggle bar. Beads are strung on Soft Flex Sterling Silver Wire, which is sterling silver and stainless steel with a nylon coating.

ELECTROFORM PROCESS: The electroform process begins with a handpicked leaf that was soaked in a special solution to dissolve the fleshly portions of the leaf, but leave the harder leaf veins and edges intact. The leaf is then coated with varnish and hand painted with a copper based paint that conducts electricity and thus enables the leaf to be electroplated using a pure silver solution.
