Details

Grocery, Market or Tote Bag in Blue and Rose Print with Rose Handles. This beautiful, very sturdy, large bag is made from some of my larger 100% cotton fabric scraps left from various quilting projects. One of my hand painted fabrics was used for the bottom outside, and the inside of the bag is the same rose fabric as the handles, or a deep burgundy as shown in one photo.

The bottom of the bag is 7.5"x12", with an extra layer of fabric fused inside for added strength. The bag has 13" tall x 12" wide front and back panels. In the photos showing the inside of the bag, there are two average size boxes of cereal and a box of hot chocolate mix (not included), with lots of room for much, much more. The handles are 4 layers cut with the lengthwise grain for extra strength. They are constructed so that they go under the bottom of the bag, not just stitched to the front, for even more strength. The handle height is appx. 9" to 11" above the bag.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product

After being frustrated with the poor quality of reusable grocery bags that are commonly sold in grocery and other stores, I decided to design my own bag that would last much longer.

Fabric strips are stitched to a continuous base of cotton fabric for extra strength. The 2 French side seams leave no exposed raw edges and are extra durable. Machine wash and dry for an easy care bag that will last for many years.

Materials Used

cotton fabrics, thread
