Reusable Grocery, Market or Tote Bag in Purples and Grapes
This beautiful, very sturdy, large bag is made from an assortment of fabric scraps left from various quilting projects. The bottom of the bag is 7.5"x12", with an extra layer of fabric fused inside for added strength. The bag front and back panels are 13" tall x 12" wide . The 100% cotton fabrics are in various grape and pansy prints in many shades of purples. The handles are 4 layers cut with the lengthwise grain for extra strength, they are constructed so that they go under the bottom of the bag, not just stitched to the front, for even more strength. The handle height is appx. 9" above the bag.

Fabric strips are stitched to a base of cotton fabric. The base fabric which can be seen on the inside is the same green mini plaid fabric as the handles. There are only 2 French side seams leave no exposed raw edges. Machine wash and dry for an easy care bag that will last for many years.

In the photo showing the inside of the bag, there are 2- 24 ounce soda bottles and an average size box of cereal, with lots of room for much, much more.

I wanted to make use of reusable grocery bags, but the inexpensive ones that the stores sell don't last very long. I designed my bags to use scrap strips of fabric from other projects I have done.

These last well, and are much better looking than most of those inexpensive bags, and can be washed without problem.
