Product Description
Fire Red and Cobalt Blue Hand Dyed Cotton Fabric- Fat Quarter. This quarter yard (appx 18"x22") of my hand dyed fabric has shades of cobalt blue on one side, blending into fire red on the other. Procion MX permanent dyes were used with the low water immersion technique. This results in very interesting patterns and shadings of the colors. There is a tiny area where there is even a bit of white glowing.

The various shades and colors make this a great fabric to use for applique, quilting, or any other fabric project that could use a pop of bright color.

My hand dyed fabrics have been rinsed, soaked and washed several times in all water temperatures until no color remained in the rinse water. It is always a good idea to rinse any hand dyed fabric in both hot and cold water because water in different areas can react differently with the dyes. I have very hard water and do use a softener for many of the rinses to help be sure there will be no bleeding of color.

I love color, and there is nothing more satisfying than to add color to fabric. It is always fascinating to see what a piece of fabric scrunched up in a container with dye and fixer looks like after it is rinsed and ironed.
