Bead Embellished Art Quilt- "Orange Echinacea on the Rocks"- 12"x12" in size.

A modified photo of an orange Echinacea flower printed onto cotton fabric is the focus of this OOAK Art quilt. The flower is surrounded by textured rocky sections of painted fabric embellished with stitching, fibers and beads. The bright orange and green batik fabric in the opposite corners coordinates with the Echinacea. Small seed beads in shades of brown add texture to the cone of the flower. The outer border of the piece is a deep, chocolate brown suede-like fabric. Freemotion quilting adds more texture and interest to the border, flower and accent areas.

The fibers remind me of moss, lichens and other tiny plants that struggle to survive in rocky outcroppings. I hand stitched beads tiny shells and stone chips to add more interest. There are tiny dragonflies, butterflies and other bugs hiding among the stone chips, shells and fibers.

This is another One-Of-A-Kind piece that can never be reproduced. It would make a great addition to a nature lover's collection. It can be displayed by mounting to a mat board, then framing, or mounting it to a stretched artist canvas, or just as it is.

This little quilt has no hanging system added to the back. If you wish, I can add corner hanging triangles that will hold a dowel, allowing it to hang on a picture hook. If you would like to hang it in this way, please let me know in the comment from buyer area during the purchasing process, and I will add the corners for you at no extra charge.
