"Double Pansy #3" Mini Art Quilt- 5"x7"- From the Spring Silk Photo Series.

This little mini quilt highlights a pair of photos of Pansy flowers printed with archival inks on silk fabric. The photos are surrounded by crazy patch of assorted ivory, beige, and white cottons. The vinelike freemotion quilting is done with an iridescent thread that pulls the shimmer of the silk through the cotton areas. The silk pieces are edged with a black with gold metallic yarn couched on, and the edges are bound with the same yarn.

This will make a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves to be surrounded by nature. Mini quilts are sized for standard size frames, they can be mounted to artist canvas, or even displayed as they are.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product

My photos printed on fabric help me to bring my own gardens and other sights from the wonderful world around me to my quilts. At a distance a garden or other area may not be very appealing, but upon closer inspection, single blooms, leaves, or other things have much beauty. I am striving to bring that beauty in nature to my art quilts.
