Original ACEO- "Dreamin' of Hawaii"- #12 of 13, Mixed Media Collage, 2.5" x 3.5" in size. This Art Card is number 12 of a set of 13 made with a tropical Hawaiian theme.

The base of the front of the card is a piece of fabric covered with various tissue papers and seed catalog pages, randomly printed with a butterfly stamp and acrylic paint. The next layer is the "waste" from sheets of postage stamps of the "Hawaiian Rain Forest". Flowers were then stamped with white paint and topped with glitter. Butterflies from a shimmery fabric were fused on top. Touches of pearlescent paint and Inktense pencils were added for a bit more color.

The back of the card has information about the media used, and the name of the card printed over a pale tropical photo. Each card is signed and numbered by the artist.

These ACEO's were a way for me to experiment with using some fabric paper that I had made. Fabric paper is made by gluing various decorative papers, old book or magazine pages to the fabric, then topping that with a layer of tissue papers also glued on. Once dry, it makes a great base to begin adding other collage items. I have used little bits of leftovers from previous projects and added paint, pencil, glitter, and other media to create little original works of art.

ACEO's (Art Cards Editions and Originals) are a great, low cost way to collect art. The small art pieces can be displayed singly, matted and framed, or in groups placed in decorative boxes or baskets for flipping through.

ACEO'a are packaged in clear archival bags and are mailed between layers of cardboard to protect them during travel.
